In the last T20 World Cup in 2022, India won 4 out of 5 group stage matches to become selected for the semi-finals. However, they were handed the 10-wicket loss by champions England when Jos Buttler and Alex Hale put on a 170-run opening stand.
A few members from the India squad will not be picked this time. Standby players
Among the two batters, Shubham Gill and Yashavi Jaiswal, only one member will be selected for the India T20 World Cup squad. So, one member will be on the standby list. Among two wicketkeepers, Sanju Samson and KL Rahul, one may not selected, so one is kept on the standby list. From Ravi Bishnoi and Yuzvendra Chahal, one will be on the standby list.
