Jubin Nautiyal was born on June 14, 1989, in Dehradun. His father, Ram Sharan Nautiyal, is a businessman and politician in Uttarakhand, and his mother, Neena Nautiyal, is also a businesswoman and housewife. Jubin showed interest in music when he was just 4 years old.
He studied at St. Joseph’s Academy in Dehradun until 8th grade. Then, he continued his education at Welham Boys’ School in Dehradun, where he studied music and learned classical music. He learned to play various instruments like the guitar, piano, harmonium, and drums.
After finishing school, he moved to Mumbai in 2007 and joined Mithibai College. He trained in music under Pandit Chhannulal Mishra in Varanasi and started his journey in Bollywood. A.R. Rahman, a famous music composer, help him to practice more before fully entering the Indian music industry.
He also received training in Hindustani classical music from his guru Sri Samanta. Jubin spent four years improving his music skills by travelling, playing with various musicians, and studying light classical music from Chhannulal Mishra in Benares. He also learned Western music in Chennai, studying under veteran guitarist Prasanna.
